Show Project - Minutes from the 2nd meeting (1st half)

In todays lesson, I directed the class as to what to do within the first half of the lesson. I asked each person in the group to rember their role within the project and then to split up into their roles (i.e get into a pair or group with the other people within that role). Once every one was into their role / groups, I then asked them to write down what their role actually involves and also to see weather they needed anything to be placed onto the budget sheet (purchases etc). After a group discussion each member of the group had sorted a basic check list out and also informed Dave (finance manager_ as to what they wanted on the budget list.

Shown below is the final job role list, along with what their roles involve:


Directors: Myself & Dave
  • Ensure people know what thye are doing
  • Direct people / actors during the filming stages of the production
  • Make sure that every one has the correct materials on the shoot (Script etc)
  • Make sure that everyone has a clear image of what is going on, each lesson / meeting
Editor: Loz
  • Upload footage from camera
  • Produce a story board
  • work closley with camera operators during editing (footage etc)
  • Make sure every one is happy with the shots, before edit (talk with directors)

Camera operators: Matt L, Tara, Tim
  • Ensure that the lighting, tripod, tapes etc are all sorted and ready for film shoot
  • Shoot the films themselves
  • Make sure that there has been full screen tests for all actors (work with casting director)
  • Pass the footage onto the editor (ready for final edit / rough cut)

Sound: Phillipa
  • Ensure that every one in the group has had a say in any ideas for sound effects / sound track etc
  • Gather ideas and research into other sound tracks from other comedie sketches etc
  • Choose a copy right sound track or produce own sound track (garage band?)
  • Discuss final sound track / sound effects with directors for final decision

Titles: Hayden, Matt H
  • Discuss story board ideas with editor and directors then with whole class (meeting)
  • Produce a story board for the opening sequence / titles
  • Ensure that the titles are spell checked and also include all the main characters (discuss with casting director)
  • Finalize opening title sequence with directors and rest of the group
Screen / script write: Hayden, Matt H, James, Alex
  • Discuss ideas for script, (beginning, middle, end) 1st, 2nd and 3rd episode
  • Enusre that ALL characters are sorted (portfolio on each main character + Extras) discuss closley with the casting director
  • Make sure that everyone in the class has had input into the script itself
  • Discuss final script with class (meeting) and then with directors ready for the casting / rehersals / video production

Money/Finance: Dave
  • make sure that EVERY role / group has had their say in what they need on the budget list
  • Send the completed budget list to the office to be processed and agreed
  • Buy the items needed for the production process of the films
  • Get the money back from the college office via cheques and also ensure that all items are accounted for at the end of the film shoot (so money hasnt been wasted etc)

Marketing: Ash, Tara, Tim, Matt L
  • Ensure that there is a clear plan as to what marketing systems are going to use (i.e
  • websites, posters, socialising sites etc)
  • Make sure that every character is shown within the marketing system
  • Inform the directors when there is a website forming for feedback and possible changes etc

Casting director: Mike
  • Ensure that everyone in the class has had their say as to weather they want to act / audition etc
  • Find other actors if need be
  • Hold an audition and also organise a screen test for each character (talk with camera operators)
  • Once actors are found, make sure the directors know and also the rest of the class
  • Talk over the script with script wiritters and actors and directors

Internet websites / marketing: Ash
  • Make the main website for the marketing of the actual videos / webisodes
  • Ensure that there is a face book page created for each charcter in the films
  • discuss with the class as to weather the website is ok, etc (get feedbac) and change it based on feedback
  • Ensure constant contact with script writters and directors so that there can be updates made on the websites etc
