Show Project - Micro-series productions / films (websites / merchandise / promotion of material)

All of the microseries films that we watched today in class, all had their own production webpage. On all of the webpages there is the actual videos that they have produced, and also a link to where you can purchase merchandise for their productions, for example T-shirts, Dvds, Posters etc.

All of the websites which I looked into all seem to be 100% based apon the style of the video itself, and is strongly reflecting apon the brand of the microseries. The main branding that I saw first of all was the logo of the productions themself. For example for the 'Living with the infidels' microseries there is a set font for the titles within the videos and also on the wenbsite, so this is a way in which they have showed branding for their series of videos.

Another way in which each of the productions has promoted their material is of course through selling the branding further on items such as t-shirts or even their own dvd sales. A great example of this is the microseries 'the guild'. This microseries / production has both the dvds which show their microseries in seperate seasons each on dvd. They also have their own branded t-shirts which also help to sell the branding further in order to get their microseries further noticed by the audience, and also to draw people towards their micro series / videos.

The other two productions, 'Chad Vader' and 'We need girlfriends' are not as well branded, as they have not personalised thir branding enough in my mind in order to achieve as high recongnision as the other productions 'The guild' and 'Living with the infidels'. The main reason why 'Chad Vader' is not aswell personalised as the others is basically because it is taking on board the starwars logo and also the font and is simply changing the words around, this is a great way of spoofing the starwars films, and also in order to make it comedic, i agree it has succeded in these areas, but it has not done enough as far as personalise its image and branding in order to achieve a growing audience, But with this said Chad Vader microserieshas still got its own line of dvds and also t-shirts to promote the branding so with these aspects alongside the actual videos themselves I believe it does work, but just not as powerfull as the other two microseries productions.

The microseries production, 'we need girlfriends' gives a great sense as to what a simplistic yet successfull video production looks like. The simplistic style of both the video and the website is a great way to give the video / production company a brand, it is not overly complicated neither is it overly editied or fancy. The way in which they promote their material towards the audience is simple they sell t-shirts and post their videos online (to youtube). much like the other productions ive mentiond above they all of course have videos online that is of course how they made their name and mark in the microseries scene of things. This production 'we need girlfriends' has a website where on it they pormote their videos on youtube by using various links, and also have a link to the wbeitse where you can purchase t-shirts with the branding of the series and characters on them, this aswell is much alike to the other microseries productions mentioned above.

Overall each of the productions websites are very similar and show each of their own personal branding and promotion in diffrent ways, but each of which realte 100% to their atual videos themselves.
