Different ways in which creative practitoners have exhibited their work

In class today we looked at how creative practitoners show their work to their audiences, through diffrent exhibitions / styles. Show below are the notes I collected from todays discussion on this subject:

Diffrent ways in which creative practitoners have exhibited their work:

Live shows / Gigs / Concerts

Example:

Bob Dylan

(When he decided to go for the more electric style during his British tour of 1966 which caused a great shock impact on the watching audiences, particularly at the Manchester free trade hall gig)

Internet (Virals)

Example:

Gary Bolsma - Viral video (Numa, Numa)

According to the BBC article dated November 27, 2006 the original Numa Numa video has been seen over 700,000,000 times worldwide - making it the second most viewed viral video in the world

Art exhibitions (Interative = New media technology)
Example:

http://www.artinteractive.org/

This website tells informatuon about new up-comming art exhibitions, such as 'Animated Gestures, three recent interactive drawing installations by pioneering new media artist, Camille Utterback'

Street Perfromances (outside thetre / mime / jugling / artwork / etc)

Example:

http://www.flashmob.co.uk/

This website lets you know when the upcoming 'flash mob' event is taking place and where abouts it will be. (A flash mob (or flashmob) is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual action for a brief time, then quickly disperse.)

Cinema Showings

Example:

Film festivals, such as the Cambridge film festival where many films are shown to an audience in the typical cinema fasion. (Projection of the film on the screen) This is sometimes followed up by a talk from the producer of the film or director or someone of that nature.

Thetre / Plays

Example:

The Cambridge Corn Exchange, At this thetre you can see a variety of plays and also music based events, so there is a mix of ways in which practitoners can show their work here.

Television (TV)

Example:

Channel four usually show live music events and festivals on their TV channel, so that the audience can choose to watch the event from their home, instead of from the festival which gives a completley diffrent view of the creative practitoner, for example the performer on stage such as Snow Patrol. If the audience watch live they will feel aswell as see the performance, but will not get a very good view compared with the audience watching from home.

Graffiti art (In the streets)

Example:

Banksy is the most well know graffiti artist, orthough not well know personally his artwork is sure the best and well know artwork / graffiti on the streets all around the world, most of his work is done against the law, and this is the reason behind his unknown status, due to the high risk factor of his graffiti art work on the streets.
