Show Project - Micro-series productions / films (their features)

After watching the collection of micro-series productions, we were asked to discuss the diffrent features of the productions we had seen, and to comment on what features where apparant in all of them as a collective.

Shown below is the notes I took in todays session when we discussed the linking features between all of the micro-series films.

Micro series features:

• Comedy
• Group of friends
• Nerdy humor / post modern / niche appeal
• Locations are simple and kept within local area of people within the films
• Loads of action / things crammed into a short time frame (1 min - 5 mins etc )
• Editing is simple yet effective
• Simple shots used, such as head on shots
• Clear character based films (sometimes not too direct, but audience still know whos who)
• Clear character base (teenagers / geeks / adults etc)
• Title sequence and branding or though not used on all the films it is a good thing to do to draw audience towards the later episodes and rember the company etc
• Basic topic where the story line / film revolves around, for example video games
• Each epiisode largly ends with a cliff hanger in order to catch the audiences attention for the next episode etc
